Privacy Policy

How PDFForge24 processes uploaded files, website data and privacy requests.

Who handles your data

PDFForge24 operates the document and image processing service at pdfforge24.com. For questions about processing or to exercise a privacy right, contact the PDFForge24 team at [email protected]. This policy covers the website and its tools. Services you visit through an external link have their own privacy policies.

Files, filenames and settings

When you submit a tool request, we receive the file contents, original filename and settings needed for that operation. These can include page selections, document titles or a password supplied for a protected PDF. The tools process files on our server; the upload interface does not mean processing happens entirely on your device. No account is required. Only upload material you are permitted to process, and consider using an offline tool for highly sensitive information.

Why we process data and the legal basis

We use submitted files and settings to perform the operation you request and return its result. Where the GDPR applies, this processing relies on performance of the requested service under Article 6(1)(b). Security, fault diagnosis and responding to support requests rely on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f), subject to your rights. Processing required by law relies on Article 6(1)(c). Optional analytics, if introduced, will rely on consent where required. Swiss data protection law also applies where relevant.

File deletion

Uploaded files and generated outputs are scheduled for deletion within 1 hour during normal service operation. Input copies and temporary job folders are removed after the request finishes; generated outputs and leftover temporary files are covered by an automatic cleanup sweep. We do not offer long-term file storage or a recovery service. Keep your original and save the download locally. Technical outages can delay automated deletion; contact us if you have a concern. This retention period applies to processing files, not to support correspondence or infrastructure security logs.

Website and infrastructure data

Website requests disclose information such as an IP address, browser headers, requested URL and request time to the server and delivery infrastructure. Cloudflare provides website delivery and security. Hosting and email providers also process data necessary to operate their services. Such providers may process information outside your country, under their own service terms and applicable transfer requirements. The tool application does not maintain an account profile or ask for an email to process a file. We do not use your uploaded documents to publish a public file library.

AI document processing

If AI tools are enabled and you choose to use one, extracted document text and your prompt are sent to Google Gemini to produce a response. The application limits the submitted document text to the first 100,000 characters for chat, summarization and translation. AI answers can contain errors. The provider applies its own processing and retention terms; the local 1-hour cleanup does not control copies held by the provider. Read Google Gemini API terms before submitting personal or confidential material. AI tools are omitted from site navigation when unavailable.

Cookies, preferences and Google Analytics

The current application saves a light or dark theme preference in browser local storage. It does not embed Google Analytics or advertising scripts in its pages. Google Analytics cookies are therefore not set by this application. Infrastructure providers may use cookies for security. If optional analytics is added, this policy and the consent controls must be updated before it is enabled where consent is required. See the Cookie Policy for browser controls. Google Fonts requests also disclose request information to Google when the stylesheet and fonts load.

Support messages and retention

When you email us, your email address, message and any attachments reach our email service. Include only what is needed to answer the request, and avoid sending passwords or sensitive source files. Correspondence may be retained for handling the request, resolving disputes or meeting legal obligations; it is not subject to the processing-file cleanup. Ask us about deletion or the retention applicable to your correspondence through the same contact address.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent for optional processing. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully performed. Send a request describing the information concerned; we may ask for proportionate identity verification. You may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or a relevant EU supervisory authority. Some rights have legal exceptions, and files already deleted cannot be retrieved to answer a request.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the way we process data changes. Review it before using a newly introduced feature, particularly one involving an external provider. For privacy concerns or questions about the service operator, email [email protected].
