What We Do
PDFForge24 provides 101 PDF and image tools through a browser interface. Files are uploaded to the server for processing. The catalog includes merging, compression, format conversion and image editing; each guide explains its scope and limitations.
Our Principles
- Free core tools — The current interface has no subscription or payment step.
- No Signup Needed — Jump straight in. No account, no email, no friction.
- No automatic service watermark — A watermark is added only when you choose a watermarking operation.
- Temporary processing — Processing files are scheduled for deletion within 1 hour during normal operation. The Privacy Policy describes storage, infrastructure and optional AI providers.
- Inspectable results — Keep your original and check the output. Processing time depends on the operation and source.
Who maintains the guides
The PDFForge24 team maintains the tool descriptions, site policies and support contact. Each guide explains the processing path visible in the application configuration, including the limitations of that operation. Reach the team through our contact page if a description does not match a result you receive.
Guide review and testing
The “last tested” date, , records the automated guide checks for this edition. It stays fixed until those checks are run again. It is separate from each tool’s “Last updated” date.
Our test suite renders all 104 configured tool guides, including the three AI guides with AI enabled and disabled. It checks formats, settings, internal links, readable text, structured data and sitemap coverage. HTTP checks request the public routes and confirm that disabled AI tools reject uploads.
Test files and limits
The guide fixtures are the tool definitions in app/src/config/tools/ and app/src/config/ai-tools/. The cleanup test creates old.pdf, fresh.pdf and job-old/page.png in a temporary folder. These contain test text, not valid PDF or image data. They check file age and removal, not conversion quality.
The JSON-LD test also uses quotes and a closing script tag to check safe output. These checks run with npm test in Node.js. They do not prove that every conversion engine works with every document, or that a live AI provider returns a correct answer.
Browser checks
Node.js rendering and HTTP tests do not run a browser. A separate Chromium screen check can confirm that the signature is visible and opens this test protocol. Firefox and Safari are not covered by the automated suite. The guide date does not claim that those browsers, or all file conversions, have passed a browser test.

PDFForge24 uses open-source tools to process files. The engines include:
- Ghostscript — PDF rendering and compression
- ImageMagick — Image conversion and manipulation
- LibreOffice — Document format conversion
